Zak was a highlight of the TEDxAnchorage event during my time as Organizer and Licensee. His talk was creative, engaging, and delivered with a presence that truly captivated the audience. Zak has delivered keynotes at conferences for NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) and gave a TED Talk, “Can Mental ‘Disorder’ Be a Superpower?” at TEDx Anchorage in 2023 (over 100,000 views). He has shared his story about his bipolar at NAMI’s National Convention, state chapters of NAMI, including New York, Maryland, and Iowa, and at the local chapters in New York City, Staten Island, Westchester County, Chicago, and Anne Arundel County. In 2018, he won the Young Leader Award from NAMI NY State for youth leadership in mental health.
